Deliverables: 5 Short Logo Reveal Videos

Methods: Pixel Animation, Vector Animation, Rotoscoping, Kinetic Typography

I was tasked with bringing 5 existing logos to life by animating a logo reveal. I was able to a variety of methods and programs in my execution of each animation: Rotoscoping, Vector Illustration, Procreate, Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.

I animated logo reveals for Firehouse Subs, Band-Aid, Cisco, Clinique, and Lego.

Firehouse Subs

Sub Sandwich Restaurant

Methods: Created using vector graphics in Illustrator, assembled in InDesign, and edited in Photoshop.

Concept: I’m a regular at my local Firehouse and wanted to create a reveal that embodied that fast-paced environment of the restaurant as well as the job of firefighting itself.

Band-Aid

Adhesive Bandage Brand

Methods: Created by filming a top-down video peeling a Band-Aid off a flat surface, selecting the key frames, and then tracing over each frame in Procreate. This method is known as Rotoscoping.

Concept: I chose to simply illustrate the process of using a Band-Aid: sticking it on, waiting, and peeling it off.

Cisco

Technology Infrastructure Company

Methods: Created by concealing and reveling parts of the logo in Procreate.

Concept: Because the logo already includes these network signal shapes I brought them to life by making them blink as the signal grows from weak to full-strength, finally revealing the wordmark.

Clinique

Skincare and Cosmetics Brand

Methods: Created by taking photos of a Clinique serum bottle, setting the element in place in each frame, and then tracing over the frames in Procreate.

Concept: I considered how some labels on clear containers are barely visible without the contrast of a colored liquid inside. The logo would only be “revealed” once the product, the serum, became a sort of backdrop. So, I was excited to use that concept along with animating flowing liquid for this logo reveal.

Lego

Toy Company

Methods: Created using Vector Illustrations in Illustrator, assembled in InDesign, and edited with Photoshop.

Concept: I decided to simply build the logo out of Lego bricks on top of the Lego Baseplate and then reveal the logo once it was all assembled.
